Hey Mike,
I beleive the Club version is an euro option. Has GT3 seats, roll bar, harness, extinguisher etc...

We don't get the options through PCNA, due to some DOT regulations. But you can order the parts individually.

There are some pictures of my GT2 Clubsport here:

<a href="http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=002454" target="_blank">http://forums.rennlist.com/forums/ultimatebb.php?ubb=get_topic;f=6;t=002454</a>

The Clubsport is only available in Europe. It was a no-cost option.

The main obvious changes are:

Rollcage (full or half)
6 Point Harnesses
Fire Extinguisher
GT3 Seats are covered in fireproof fabric, not leather

Under the skin there are other changes, though I don't know them all. One is that Clubsport cars get a single mass flywheel rather than a dual mass flywheel. A lot of the electronic options are also deleted. A/c and radio is a free option, but not fitted as standard. I would need to compare it to a Comfort to see the differences, but my car has a lot of blank switches.

They are very rare cars, I have yet to see another GT2 Clubsport.

Hi Guy, I thought they were both the same base model. The difference is only a clubsport package which from my brochure only states, Alternative equipment package; includes foll cage (bolt-in roll over bar fitted, front section of roll cage supplied separately), budket seats with flame-resistant fabric, three-point seat belts in red six-point racing harness for drivers side (supplied separately), fire extinguisher (supplied separately), battery master switch available as retrofit kit.
Basically thats it, the im sure air con is standard on both and the radio is an option. Never heard about anywhere about the flywheels being different, dont see why they would be either.
I have the comfort model, I know Cem, maybe we should meet and compare?
Will be running it at Ten of the best 2 if you are there.

Hi Darren,

I know the flywheels are different on the Clubsport versions of the GT3 and thought they were also on the GT2. A single mass flywheel is better for racing as the dual mass (silicone filed) has a slight slippage built in to insulate gearbox vibration, it is also lighter. We probably need a full spec from Porsche to be sure, since they don't always put everything in the brochures.

I will be at Ten Of The Best this year and have entered the GT2. I am also organising the entries for the Nissan Skyline GTRs (two of my old cars are entered). See you there!

I had a 700bhp R34, very quick, but huge turbo lag due to big single turbo ie no boost until 5500rpm. GT2 would eat it on anything but the drag-strip, due to the available torque and instant response. 4wd did help in the wet, so it might be quicker than a GT2 in the wet. However it broke lots and the upgrades were very expensive. The modifications I had done totalled over £70,000 ($116,000) and I blew up three engines in the process. At 700bhp the expected engine life was about 12,000 miles between rebuilds. In the 24 months I owned it, it spent about 18 in workshops getting upgrades and rebuilds.

I bought a GT2 so I could have a car that was quick out of the box, had a warranty, was designed to last with serious bhp and was fun.

The R32 was a drag-only car and had 831bhp at the wheels, was totally unusable as a road car (it had virtually locked diffs etc).

Anyway this is way off-topic, so we can chat at TOTB.

Guy,

Were you at the ring this easter with your SKyline, because there was a bloke their with a rather amusing Skyline with a bumper sticker saying limited to 209mph.

Seemed a nice guy, was that you?

all the best

Adam,

Nope, not me then either I'm afraid.

Here's a couple of pictures of my old R34 and R32.
