GT2 vs. GT3 gear ratios
GT2: R&P: 3.44:1 - Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 2 315/30R18
Gear / Ratio / Top Speed (mph) / RedLine (RPM) / RPM drop on upshift
1st / 3.82 / 39 / 6800
2nd / 2.05 / 73 / 6800 / 3600
3rd / 1.41 / 106 / 6800 / 4600
4th / 1.12 / 134 / 6800 / 5400
5th / 0.92 / 163 / 6800 / 5600
6th / 0.75 / 200 / 6800 / 5500
GT3: R&P: 3.44:1 - Tires: Michelin Pilot Sport 2 295/30R18
Gear / Ratio / Top Speed (mph) / RedLine (RPM) / RPM drop on upshift
1st / 3.82 / 46 / 8200 /
2nd / 2.15 / 82 / 8200 / 4600
3rd / 1.56 / 114 / 8200 / 5900
4th / 1.21 / 147 / 8200 / 6400
5th / 1.00 / 173 / 8000 / 6800
6th / 0.85 / 203 / 8000 / 6800
Both cars from 3rd gear and up have the benefit of a closed ratio transmission.
The GT2 stays on the powerband on every upshift, but the GT3 falls short off the powerband until 3rd gear.
The GT2 will benefit from the Cup car 1st gear shaft (3.15:1) and 2nd gear pinion (2.00:1). It doesn't need a shorter R&P. The Cup car LSD is a plus.
Due to the narrower powerband on the GT3, the car will benefit from a shorter R&P (4.00:1), taller 1st (3.15:1) and 2nd gear (2.00:1) from the Cup car, leaving all the other gears as is.

Makes sense. My 993tt is geared lower than my old 993c2 so the turbos stay spooled. 5th and 6th are taller as they assume you are already on-boost at that point.
