Default Nürburgring: Stock GT3 ran 7:49

Manthey Racing tested a stock GT3 on street tires, their GT3MM with the 410 power kit and Dunlop SSR, and their 3.9 GT3 RS Racing Car.

GT3: 7:49sec
GT3MM: 7:41sec (tires make a difference)
GT3 RS 3.9: 7:01sec

The article is in German.

I just wonder what Walter Rohl could run seriously.

Anyone got a program that's good at translation???
I'd love to read it, sounds like a great story.

(I am absolutely confident that given any of the three cars I could prove that it is possible to take them all round in well over 15 minutes!)

I believed, Walter Rohl's time in the GT3 at the Ring was calculated, more to placate our GT2, turbo and to be GT brothers in Porsche's model placement for marketing reasons than what the GT3 had and will achieve i.e., Le Mans, Sebring, and ALMS etc. It's the only Porsche model raced worldwide and is dominate in it's class and more.

Does anyone know what the K410 entails?
I assume ECu remap, exhaust and air filter.
Is the exhaust system from Europipe?
I know Manthey had Europipe build their exhausts for them, but I think that has since changed.

The Manthey Motors K410 has:

- New headers
- remapped ECU
- Sport Cats
- Sport Mufflers (not Europipe)
- BMC Air Filter

They claim 410Hp TUV certified. Price: 8,990 euros

I'm getting the K410 fitted this week, along with the Manthey suspension.

I'm hoping for some big gains !!

Someone else in the UK who has had it done, had it register 420BHP on Mantheys rolling road at the ring.

Any pre-installation number for comparison?

I think it was 381

Mine was tested at 381.1 a couple months ago, it will be good to know the exact figures when tested again.

In fairness, the 420BHP figure that this guy got, was in quite cold conditions, so won't probably be as high in the summer ??
But impressive all the same.

Remember that ROW GT3 are producing lower outputs. Nobody knows why.

This is probably stupid, but you guys have been converting SAE #'s to DIN #'s to be fair, right? Cause that accounts for about 8-12hp difference.

I don't know where the misconception lies, but lightweight Turbos, like the former IMSA GT2 and LeMans classes, are much faster cars than any normally aspirated 911.

Look at the PCA rules -it's called "physics":

Class Year Model Weight HP Ratio (lb./hp.)
B All 911 GT2 3175 456 6.96
B All 996 Turbo 3351 450 7.45 (X50)
B 04 911 GT3 2920 380 7.68
B 05 997 Turbo 3505 415 8.45

Thus, any GT2/X50 Turbo will beat any GT3, if the driver is competent.

93 911 Turbo S2
