Insurance Coverage
I searched, but only found DE insurance discussions.
I am looking for information on non-track insurance choices for a 6GT3. Does anyone use agreed value insurance for their GT3? |

If you go search on some of the other forums (like R8, Ferrari, Lambo, etc), there is more discussion on these types of coverages. That's where I found a lot of info. -td |
Given how much the value of these cars fluctuate and the fact that most insurance would very much under insure these cars I would only consider someone that offers agreed value. Last thing I'd want to deal with is a situation where insurance is paying out because of a wreck and you're having to fight to prove what the car is really worth vs the value they place on it. And in most cases you'll find agreed value isn't any more expensive.

I used StateFarm for "limited use antique/classic" insurance with $70k value for ~$600 per year. Pictures of the car were required and they were fine with the aftermarket items (or didn't recognize them).

I'm sure lots of folks will chime in here. There are plenty of carriers that will provide agreed value coverage. I recently got American Modern Insurance (which turns out to be a USAA affiliate). Process was easy and quick. My rate was right at $850 per year at $75K agreed value. You just need to have a DD and provide some other proof (like pic of your garage/facility, pics of car, etc).

Search over on the 991 GT section, there’s a couple lengthy threads with different options.

I use Condon & Skelly, which is part of Chubb. They are good to work with also.

I use Hagerty for theft, fire and transportation/paddock insurance.

We have Leland West for my wife's 964, but are hoping to find a less restrictive agreed value policy for the GT3 that does not prohibit our son from driving it. We also have On Track Insurance for DEs. KBB did not provide a value for GT3 when I searched, so I have to ask my auto/home insurance career how they would determine value.
Perhaps another reason to have bought a C7. |
I am at $110K agreed value with Hagerty. They did not bat an eye at that amount. I was originally at $85K but increased due to several costly upgrades I did on the car.

I would recommend agreed value insurance. Don't have to think about it in this case.

Leland did not have an option for allowing drivers younger than 25, so signed the GT3 up with Hagerty, and switched the 964.
