+1 on this. Fixed my issues completely (along with 993 RS engine mounts), but I don't think the engine mounts helped much b/c I did them before the transmission mount/inserts and it did not improve shifting. The 996 GT3/Turbo transmission mount has been superseded by the 997 part which has beefier rubber. I still put in the FF insert.

The stiffer engine mounts transfers more load to transmission mount making the upgrade that much more important, In fact it makes me feel my 997 mount & insert might need checking as well.

Default Transmission mount...

Gofishracing: Hmmmm, I never thought of this for this 6GT3 car with 14,000 miles, assumed it would be good, BUT, the stock mount is 15 years old..appreciate the tip.

Gofishracing, help me understand your suggestion "go to 997 & function first insert." Pardon my ignorance.

When I got my car last year and had the coolant lines done, they found a cracked transmission mount. Replaced them with these, 60A https://cantrellmotorsport.com/transmission-mounts/
The 60A ones are more suitable for street, in hindsight I probably should have gone with the 85A.

There are threads. The rubber inside the mounts just deteriorate .Not immediately visible but when removed shocking.,Cracked & split. They all will fail ( Like the fittings). The 997 mount is a stock replacement & with the insert should last a few years & help shifting especially under load

+1 on the Cantrell mounts. Although 60A is what they recommended to me just a few weeks back. I explained that my intended use is 50/50 street and track. I run Intermediate group. Cantrell still recommended the 60A.

While I had the engine out for coolant pipes, I just did these with the RSS engine mounts and a 997.2 GT3 shifter and Numeric Cables. I pick up the car this week or next.

I have run both for years. I got the last new Cup shifter from PMNA. Very nice setup.

Function First has a rebuild kit for stock 996 shifter with metal parts. That's what was done on my car with the Numeric cables.
