Exhaust/Cat replacement options
I’m now running into the 6GT3 catalytic converter failure issue. I’m just under 20K miles. It gets about 85% track use. Given the cost of new cats, along with mostly track use, I’m interested deleting the cats. I’m not trying to gain 10-20 HP at a cost of $5K or more. I also don’t want a much louder car, since I do drive it on the street occasionally.
Does anybody have experience with SpeedTech exhaust? Their system is fairly modular and allows you to delete the cats and run the stock mufflers, which appeals to me. US made. Can add cats and their mufflers if desired.
Fabspeed is also an option, but not enthused about Chinese steel. They may be ok, but I’d prefer US or European. What opinions do you have about Fabspeed for this application?

I have used SpeedTech on 996 GT3
I went with SpeedTech's options back in 2012 for a 2005 996 GT3. I replaced the factory cats and mufflers with SpeedTech's 100 Cell cats and Mufflers. It made the Car sounds much nicer but a bit too loud for long street rides. The Check Engine light would also come on once and a while when the car was not driven as its meant to be.
Once a few of my fellow PCA instructors heard my car with the SpeedTech system on it a few of them jumped onto the bandwagon :-)
I don't have that GT3 and longer but if I needed aftermarket Cats and Mufflers again I would reach out to SpeedTech but this time I would go with their 200 Cell Cats since they should be quieter and also there should be less risk in having the occasional Check Engine light.
Have fun shopping and keep updating the thread with your findings and final choice to help other members that may be in the same boat as you are now.

I always thought the speedtech looked nice. And I was a fan of the modularity so you could open it up when at the track. I ended up going a different direction (Dundon Race) because I was OK with it being loud, but I looked very hard at Speedtech as it is a nice header/x pipe system at a reasonable price. I didn't see many dyno graphs for speedtech, but it looks like they report a 10HP peak gain on a catted system.
Check engine light with Cats is kind of a bummer. I have a catless system and I get a CEL if I cruise at low speed (40-60mph) and low load/RPM for a prolonged period of time, but if you drive it properly you never get one. Plus, I feel like everyone should have a durametric tool for clearing codes. It only costs about as much as one front tire.
I always thought the speedtech sounded good (like a quieter version of dundon race):

M&M 200 Cell Cats
Here's an option I'd consider if it was time to replace my cats.
Carnewal in the UK has 200 cell cats from M&M. Cost is Euro: 1,495.00 plus shipping.
From their site:Sport Cats for the mk1 and mk2 GT3 models.
Power increase of 10 HP.
OBD2 compliant : 200 cells.
These cats are a straight replacement for the original cats.
Made from stainless steel.

If you need to replace cats anyway I would seriously consider going to a 997 set up. The cats are integrated with the headers which bolt l right up to our cars of course. It was the single best mod I ever did on my car. Of course you’ll need a center exit cup bumper but if you can get over the aesthetics of that it is a great option that frees up ponies as well and sounds great.

Race Car
Kyle, your head is in the right place here, for what you're doing with the car you're just going to keep killing cats. I actually looked at the SpeedTech exhaust when it first came out and really found it appealing but I didn't want a system in the stock diameter hence I went the custom route to get exactly what I wanted.
I also agree with you on staying away from that other vendor.
In your shoes, I'd get the Race x-pipe cat delete jobbie from SpeedTech then pick up some cheap o2 extensions from Amazon (you can get straight or 90 you'll have to see where sensor placement is and figure it out) and you will be good to go. Similar to Anthony, the only time I've ever experienced a check engine light on my car is sub 3000 rpm on the freeway for over a 20 minute period.

Agree with catless if 85% track.....would not recommend going 200 cell HJS as they will fail with sig. track use

I run the Fabspeed sport cats, and the mini O2 sensor "cats". The mini cats conquer any emissions or check light issues.
I also have TUBI mufflers. Car sounds like roar of god good/pure motorsport sound, manageable if stay under 5K revs.
After all that, I got a fresh flash of my Evoms tune. Not running rich or lean. Car pulls like freight train.
