How high can 996 coil overs go?
Anybody know how high ride height can be set to with the standard 996 GT3 coil overs?
I'm toying with turning my 2004 GT3 into a "safari" style winter beater...

longer linear springs should help, could also have top mount spacers made front + back , pull off the chin spoiler and brake ducts ... would be WICKED fun...

I've wanted to do something similar for a while... Ideally converting a "driver quality" 996 turbo into a 959 homage.
Longer springs, improved belly pans, urethane flaps, Braid wheels, rally tires, classic race team livery...

The stock USA 996 C2 shocks/springs were pretty high....not as high as the Rothmans car but they would be much higher than stock GT3 and would be plug and play installation. The USA version of M030 was not much, if any, lower than the stock non-M030.
Did they open up the fender/wheel arches on the Rothmans car pictured above?

Here is photo to illustrate ride height for rally. Tires are now different. And roof rack now has LED lights.

There was a version of the 996 RS that was built for rally in Europe so it can be done. There is a guy in the cup car forums that converted his 996 cup into a rally car.
