What size front is preferable with the SuperSports? 245/35/18 or 245/40/18?

Depends on what you are running in the rear (how tall). You generally want things close F/R within reason.

A stock 295/30 rear is close to a 25 inch diameter.

the 245/40 is about 3% taller, the 245/35 1% shorter. With a 295 I'd run the /35 in this case, it's the closest to the rear size and the lower sidewall.

When I run a 315/30 rear, I run a 245/40 to keep the taller F/R ratio in line.

What rears are you planning to run?

And now re-reading your post, if you are in fact going to go with the taller 295/35 Supersport, then a taller 245/40 front.

Sorry for the TMI in my above post!

I like the Yoko Advan ADO8R for "spirited" street use.
but
they are not the best if you are looking to minimize N/V/H

295 - 30 rear
and
235 or 245 -40 front

Ciao

Took the GT3 for a tour to Sacramento via the Delta. My 6 year old Yokohama Advan ADO8R w/ only 13k miles have aged out and the ride is like a “Fintstone car” (my wife’s words but I’ve got to agree). So.....

I’d like to go with the Michelin Pilot Super 4S but sizing appears to be the challenge. You recommendations and experiences would be appreciated.

Pilot Sport 2s if you want the best street tire with cost not an option.

Sumitomos if your budget is tight.

The Sumis work well and predictably, they are just not as sticky as the PS2s, but close.

I run the Sumis because of the really aggressive track alignment. Treadwear is high and the tires last a while with piles of negative camber. They are not soft or quiet or comfortable.

I am leaning towards the following replacements

Michelin SuperSports
245/40-18s and 295/35-18s

Aside from the annual GGR/Zone 7 Auto-X school, weekend driver. Your thoughts on the tire and sizing would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

if they are the super sport 4's, they seem to be very good dry weather stick tyres.
I have a set on my AVANT.

I'm surprised they are now available in 18's.
245s will likely rub occasionally..

have fun.
235's may be better choice if available
