Default Air Bags Dash Warning Light - Delete!

Hi guys, my 2004 GT3 is mostly used for track events, so some years ago we removed all the airbags & fitted a race steering wheel. Rely on the full roll cage, harnesses, HANS and helmets instead.

Unfortunately and out of the blue, I have to take the vehicle for a government licensing inspection, Of course the airbag red light shows up on the instrument panel, plus on start the warning in words comes on.

Needing to temporarily nullify these for the inspection! Have sold off all of the airbag components.... aaargh.
But I've heard there is a clever solution.
An auto electrician can rig up a timer to the airbag light so it stays on for 3 seconds when the car is started, but also stays on permanently when ignition is on and not running.

Anyone have any wisdom or insights re doing this? Many thanks

You need to wire in resistors into each of the airbag circuits and then use PIWIS to turn off the lights and they should remain off. I looked this up not too long ago when i was looking to replace my steering wheel with a cup wheel and then never moved forward with the project. I'll see if I can dig up the resistor info.

I used 2.2 ohms - low wattage.

Resistors and PWIS. That being said I've somehow been too lazy to deal with mine since we don't do inspections... may need to bump that up the list.

Durametric is sufficient to delete the errors if resistors will be used.

I think you use the PWIS to indicate 'no explosive devices' in the car

Just errors could be deleted Durametric. I have done it...with version 6.x
Even driving with disconnected airbags could be deleted easily afterwards.
If you had an crash (saved in the airbag controller) you must use Piwis to delete the crash in the airbag controller which works 3 times only.

Update and great news!. Put in seven resistors today and all working perfectly, including for the seat belt tensioners.
Thanks for all the support
