Well that's alot better than XP9 which would give me 3 track days...since most weekends are 2 day weekends that means a change after every track weekend. For DE I thought that was a bit much.

Based on the above I am thinking 300v may be the right oil to be using for me.

An engine builder pal is recommending PennGrade 1.

I have been using Motul 300v Competition 15W50 for 10 years.

I think it's the best thing for a racing car. I do not know the availability in the USA

They will outperform in every other way however. 8100 and Sport are great products for mixed driving (street and race) and even 300V if you don’t mind spending the extra cash and keep the intervals down to around 5000 miles to start.

Let me know how I can help bring anymore level of understanding of Motul oils and how wecan benefit your Porsche -Nick
Can you please post VOAs for the your Motul oils mentioned here?

Note that there is a 300V Motorsports version and a 300v Powersports version. Easy to confuse the two when ordering.

Can you give me more specifics? How many track days? What is your current oil change routine?
My car is street/track, new to me so I don't really have an oil change routine yet, trying to figure that out!
So far on this 8100 I have about 2K miles, including three DE's, (totaling about 16 20-min sessions).
I'm a beginning driver and am not pushing the car that much on the track.

Thanks all,

This conversation is good timing! I have been using a Redline product, and a couple of folks (who I respect) have been saying to use the Mobil 1 oil. I will be firing the motor up next week after it's rebuild and would like to make a decision. I don't think I want to continue with Redline.

I will be using the Brad Penn break-in oil, but that will change quickly as I will be doing a track event in ~ 3 weeks (I hope).

Using a special break-in oil is a good idea. Afterwards I would use the 300V 15w/50.

There is an interesting story on the Porsche Mobil 1 stuff. Porsche changed their mind from June on in using 5w/50 instead of 0w40.....
