FUTURA Trailer: First time out
After several months of ownership and a few 300 mile tows, get a truck or a Cayenne Diesel, or the VW Touerag Diesel. That's what I am doing in the near future. The Cayenne is probably the best bet for resale....

As I read through the Lincoln Navigator Instruction manual, I come to learn more and more...it does have 2WD, 4WD and AWD and a special Tow Mode. It has PASM style of individual rear wheel breaking when yaw is detected. With a weight distribution hitch, it will tow 9,000 lbs, and appropriate tongue weight...my rig is 6,200 max, so we should be good. The "Book" says to put 87 octane in...use 91 when towing. I use 89 routinely and will add 91 when towing.
The 3.5 twin turbo motor puts out 380 HP, just like the GT3.....add dual catch cans to "catch" oil vapor that tends to retard the spark (reduce power so they say) (No details on this, all new to me), a custom electronic tune and a cat back exhaust...could be 100 more HP, awesome. Will I do this??? Of course, the parts come in next week. Cost parts and labor, to get 50 to 100 more HP? Just under $2,000.

Been driving D'Beast for several weeks now. Wifey even likes it...getting 16+ mpg on 89 Octane...run 91 Octane when towing says the Ops Manager. I am getting a weight distribution hitch installed for towing.

Already have about 4,000 miles on the car. Loving it. Bought a Reese weight distribution list.....will do my first demo tow next week. Note, when I connected the trailer brake connector, the car automatically went not the Trailer Towing Mode. Can believe the power of the 3.5 liter V6, twin Turbo. What an incredible engine.

Octane for towing
Lincoln Owners manual recommends 91, and a weight distribution hitch if towing over 6,000 lbs, up to 9,000. I tow about 6,200 so I went ahead and bought a Reese weight distribution hitch and a trailer brake controller, of course.

Martin- the question was a joke. You have already posted Three times on this thread that you plan to use 91 octane for towing. You must obviously spend lots of time thinking about octane levels.
