WTB: GT3 RS CF wing & CF end plates
I have sourced a new wing from Getty Design, but it's a little steep...These wings don't wear out so I thought I'd look for a used one.

I have a Getty cup wing on my 6-3, but I really don't care for the design of the end pieces. They look sort of square and out dated. Are there other options that anyone is aware of?
Martin, I assume you meant GT3?

Here is what I first saw...and I have a pal with this wing on his 6GT3: GT3-03 RS Top Wing for Factory Base<<<That's how it is described on the Getty Web site. That's what I am looking for, in CF not fiberglass.

The Getty price is approx $1500 with the CF end plates. The factory wing is $7500 if you can find one. Getty seems like a bargain to me. I don't think you could find a used Getty for less than what they sell it for.
(Ie: It doesn't get cheaper than that)

Hey Martin, Let's talk to Mike Shaw (Getty) about an "group buy" for 996 GT3 RS wing and tail base.
They always give a cash discount in my experience and if we get 3 others.............................
The Getty wing is likely fiberglass with a CF laminate, but not sure about that.

Buy the Getty.... . It's cheap compared to what some of us have in the OEM person and without taking the end plates off or analyzing the weave it's tough to tell.... (the originals and used ones likely will need re-cleared at some point due to yellowing resin which isn't cheap either).

GT3-03 RS Top Wing for Factory Base the 55” RS Top Wing.
Direct bolt on to the factory GT3 03 composite tailbase.
Includes RS Wing End Plates.
$999.00 - FRP
Add OptionsAdd $599.00 for a Carbon Fiber Top Wing
Add $449.00 for Carbon Fiber End Plates
That adds up to $2,047, and add in a another $163 for tax, now at $2,210...then shipping. I don't know about the rest of the world but I have just got to have CF over FRP, whatever that is.
I have a line on what may be an original wing, the owner is looking for a part # of some indication of its originality on the wing. Anybody have an idea how to determine if a GT3-RS wing is original VS aftermarket?
If it is original it will be a lot more than the $2,210 mentioned above, about 60% more, and if it is original, it could be worth it.

if you just choose the $599 carbon top wing option it comes with CF end plates. At least that’s how mine came with. You also need to spend about $200-$250 for a good bodyshop to clear coat and fill the edges. The finishing result is very nice. I ended up spending total about $1900 all in.
