Talking Scuderia course in a 996gt3

Just came back from an unforgettable week at the Nurburgring and the Scuderia hanseat course. I´ve only done a handful of tourist laps before and decided that the best way to aproach this unbeliveble track was to take the course and learn section by section.

They divide the Ring into 10 sections and you drive two sections in the morning and two in the afternoon. Do this for two and a half day with very experienced instructors located in the most important sectors of the track. You drive back and forth and get feedback on your progress every 2-3 run.
The last afternoon is time for your examination lap. Points being given in these key areas.

The track is also open for participants during lunch brake and after last session training. I can tell you that there is no shortage of driving. 11.5h per day is the track open for participants.

Here is a video of what a pro driver can do with a well set up 996.2gt3. I´m obviously in the right seat and all I can say its a bit overwhelming.
I’ll post a video of my lap as well. And its not in slow motion. 😂

Completely jealous you got your GT3 over there and got to use it on such great tracks. After my Nurburgring experience last year the only thing I could think about was how do I get my GT3 over there to get to drive it on that epic track!

Thanks,

It was a dream trip. So fortunate to be able to do this. I love driving the 996gt3. It’s was very well set up by previous owner “85gold”. I´ve kept tweaking it to get it to perform the way it does at the moment.
Suspension is setup to suit the bumpy tarmac of Sebring. It worked really well at Nordschleife. Andreas (AMG driver) probably posted one of the fastest laps ever recorded by a 996gt3 on the ring.
The lap in the video is roughly 7.35. He thought without my 210pounds and a little more aggressive driving he could do a 7.25 in my car. As you probably see in the video we where very fortunate with traffic. Only got held up a tiny bit twice.
The ring is very intimidating when you are a rookie. I´ve done some tourist laps over the last ten years. This was my first real Nordschleife experince. And I cant wait to go back.

7:25 in a 996 GT3!!! 7:35 is still amazing! What have you done with the rear wing?

Spiller, is that the same GT3 (black) you had last year? Did you wrap it. Nice color.

car has a few cheater parts on it. Custom uprights that are higher than 996cup uprights. Wing from a 997grand am car. And then Joe Toths front splitter.
With this aero we did 270km/h (gps) into Tiergarten.
A few places at the ring where the aero really helps.
Most importantly the soft Sebring setting of the MCS suspension worked really well at the ring.

The car looks fantastic on track, still can’t get over that time. You’ve got yourself a weapon there!

7:25 (full round not BTG) with a GT3 ;-) I don't think so...

with a stock RS the full round is about 7:45 with a stock GT3 about 7:55

for 7:25 you have to modify (the full suspension including hubs, frames etc) a lot on this car
