concrete needs to be 6" thick minimum and you drill and set anchors. i epoxied mine in as well. i have also seen a guy that cut a square out of the concrete welded long bolts to a steel plate set it in the hole ad refilled the concrete. this will have the bolts sticking out but he didnt move his

Love the idea.

I just measured the distance from the top of my car to the bottom of my garage door opener — I got 35".

That doesn't do me a lot of good, unfortunately.

I did this with a 1990's C4 in my garage on 24" jack stands. I needed 30", but didn't know that until the engine was down and I couldn't roll it out. That was my first big project. I had that engine down in about 8 to 10 hours. I'm sure the GT3 will be more work, but I'm trying to determine if I should even consider this or just punt and pay the shop time.
it takes me about 5 - 6 to Remove and 7 - 8 to Re-Install.
draining water / removing / reinstalling hoses/ water is time consuming.

I use a lift and harbor freight lift table and tranny jack.

posible to do without a lift?
yes, but need to get car to appropriate height before you start your work.

go ahead, DIY

A bunch of us had the same issue - solution is a jackshaft opener and raise the rails to the roof.

That's really cool!

I need to look into those side mounted openers, too. It would be nice to find one with a soft-start motor so that it doesn't jerk the hell out of the door.
