Did you decide to go with the demonspeed exhaust or go another route? I seem to remember you kicking that idea around in another thread...

I don't have a center exit bumper so wasn't considering their exhaust but I was hoping the headers they have in development were going to make it to market sooner rather than later as I was evaluating header options.

Ive got a custom exhaust on my car modeled after the M&M / FVD rally exhaust. I'm refreshing that exhaust and adding headers into the mix.

Got it - my bad interpretation - Matt and the gang at aspen have pointed me at some FVD long tube headers recently (I cheaped out and went with 997.2 headers for now as a budget management exercise). Are you going custom?

It does improve things but t's a lot of $$$$ for minimal gains looking back. Don't think I'd want to start testing/ cutting up decklids in addition to this. Dundon do require the thinner 997 fan in order to fit their box so that would be a minimum requirement for the OEM .2 box.

Has anyone tried to install a 997.2 cup dual inlet airbox in their 996 GT3? Obviously the decklid needs to be cut for the provision of the second air opening but does the fan get in the way? I know for the 997.1 the fan isn't a blocker to this modification as many of those guys have done this on their 3.6 997.1 cars. I think I might have seen reference somewhere that that latch clearance might be an issue? Any other issues with alignment with the throttle body or adopting to the smaller throttle body on the 996 or would this require the 82mm throttle body to be successful?

Thanks for any input and for bouncing ideas around when it's cold out and I'm impatiently waiting for track season!!!
996 GT3. Check.

Gen 2 997 GT3/2009 on Cup airbox. Check.

Thanks for sharing this!
The decklid shroud underneath comes from where? Is that simply attached to the stock decklid?

The inside of the deck lid was modified for the previous 4.1, 500hp motor conversion that ran ITB’s and a custom carbon airbox/filter assembly. The carbon shroud you can see is a custom piece that bolts to the inside of the stock (but cut away) deck lid, it ducted the air into the custom air boxes/filter housings (which I still have if anyone is interested in purchasing them)

The 4.1 motor detonated itself to death and knocked the lobes of all its cams.

The motor in the images is a 2009 997 3.6 Cup motor running custom Inconel headers and catless X pipe and Ti mufflers. It produces 465hp. Details of the engine install can be found here :

Whilst the 3.8 Gen 2/Motorsport Cup airbox inlets don’t match up accurately with the underside of the deck lid, but the deck lid runs an RS type external cold air scoop and that feeds plenty of cold air into the deck lid and the thereon into the airbox/engine bay.

Bumping an old thread. Does the maf from 6GT3 need an adapter to fit the cup airbox?

Have someone done this mod on a 997 Mk2 Carrera C2? would go for a GT3 RS intake due to the GT3 RS rear wing with its air induction inlets.

Does the GT3 RS intake fit on a C2?
