For those that like the performance and less unsprung weight of the PCCB's, there's a PCCB alternative now available for the 996. At $11,998 for a full set, Surface Transforms carbon ceramic rotors are about half the price of a set of new PCCB rotors and outperform them. The hidden gem is that the ST rotors are also refurbishable, up to 4-5 times at only $2k for the entire set, leading to a life expectancy of about 15k track miles. It's worth considering as a middleground between iron rotors and the factory PCCBs.
