Car Died on me for the first time
It was running just fine today and stopped for some last minute Christmas shopping, but when I went to leave the store today, I got a few hundred feet, then it suddenly started running really, really rough.
The car would idle, but as soon as you gave it gas it would start missing really badly. I was able to nurse it into a parking lot, but it barely starts now.
Any ideas where to start looking?

These original pumps are a known weakness and the pump assembly has been subject to revisions and updates over the years.
Some folks repair the bursted hose with a part out of a Volvo catalog.
I don't have the part number myself... maybe you can search for this online.
I imagine that the parts store can supply generic fuel resistant hose for the repair.
Porsche does not offer separate serviceable replacement parts for the pump's appendages as you probably discovered.

No pumps in the US? You know that is some kind of lie, don't you?

I ordered a new OEM GT3 pump assembly from Germany a few weeks ago. I only need the lower part of the basket so if anyone wants a new pump with the lines just let me know..

My pump failed this year too. The whole upper green assembly was cracked. The pump flopped around during long hard left hand turns and the car stalled on the track.
I too had to wait for a new one from Germany. Its easy to change. I had the older version of the pump without the rubber hose that tends to fail. I wanted to change out to the newer version, but it looks like the mount on the bottom of the tank is different between years.

13 years of Ethanol exposure. Yeah, that's the cause. Ha :-)
Besides, the OP states that his shop says it was the pump, not the hose.
After some research, I understand that the older 996 had original pumps with a short section of rubber hose. That submersible hose is only good for a few years. Posters who had split hoses and replaced it with more of the same hose had continuing problems (I have a 2005 Italian motorcycle that specifies that in-tank hose be replaced every 2 years.)
Newer Porsche pumps apparently have all plastic hoses, that don't have the limited lifetime
