If you do this, please post a photo (or three) of the hardware you use to enable both 3 point and 6 point lap belts.

I did this on my 993 with good success, just want to make sure i have all the necessary hardware before i dig in.

For the sub belt mount under the seat, is that something you purchased?

why is it porsche always mounts all the saftey harnesses to the seat mounting plate? if the plate comes loose theres nothing to keep you secured. look at schroth pdf files. it details the proper way to install saftey harnesses and never is it secured to the seat bases.

Probably has something to do with the seat being able to slide forward and back instead of being fixed.

You can either buy the sub belt bar from Porsche or other vendors, (Brey Krause)

that would make no difference at all since the length of the belts are adjustable. mounting the belts to a fixture that can break loose during an impact is just poor planning. thats why most setups use plate steel welded to the frame or sandwiched above and below the floor plate independent of the seat. if the seat breaks loose the harness will at least keep you in place.

Whats your theory then? Why would Porsche setup cars like this? I agree it has flaws, and is not correct for a true race car.

I don't have a theory that's why I'm asking. With the amount of racing history porsche has they should know better
