Default Adding heat to Euro GT3 buckets--what are my options?

I have a pair of 996 GT3 buckets in my 2004 C4S that I would like to add heat to. Looking at the seat cushions, it seems like it would be pretty straightforward to throw a couple aftermarket seat heater pads in the cushions for heat. Since the car came with heated seats originally, I do have seat heater rocker switches. It would be great if I were able to splice the aftermarket pads into the existing wiring so that I can use the factory switches, is this possible? Or will I have to power the pads from a switched source and use the aftermarket switches?

Would love to hear from anyone that has done this or has insight as to what needs to be done to make it work.

There is a DIY thread somewhere on here, possibly in the 996 section.

Thanks, I’ve searched and not yet found anyone that has done this—adding aftermarket heating elements to buckets in a car that was originally equipped with heated seats. Surely I’m not the first to add heat to the gt3 buckets, but so far it’s crickets.

Heated seats and GT3 buckets just don’t go together. You are asking the wrong crowd.

Regardless i I think it is close to impossible to add heating elements as the GT3 seat centers are attached by velcro.

If if you want heated buckets sell your GT3 seats and go after-market as that’s probably the easiest option

Thanks! Should come in handy when I inevitably have questions on wiring things up.
