True dat.

Most who make fun of these do so as the GT3 pulls away from them.

A whole lot more 928s (something like 60,000+) were made than 996 GT3s.

Low miles gt3's ie 30kish, with no stories will be fetching a lot more than 60g's in 2020

Supply & Demand will eventually impact 6GT3 values.

No one has EVER said or as far as I know, even THOUGHT that the 996 GT3 is anything but a great looking sports car. Put that aesthetics crap behind you, it's simply not the case. This is what a workhorse track 6GT3 looks like hot and sweaty, after thrilling the kidneys out of its driver.
A wash, A/C on and it cruised home, with little Civics bouncing around its wake trying to get a better look and eye contact, to throw out a Big Thumbs Up. Sure I want the value to go up, more importantly I want to enjoy this sports car to its fullest.

My teen son and his teen & late teen buddies never mention anything about the headlights. They played video games with these cars plus they had Sally in the movie Cars. My son & his buddies are crazy about my 6GT3 which my son will be driving summer 2018, YIKES!

Something else to consider regarding future values: For the past year or so, there simply have not been that many on the market, and the "drivers" cars that are moderate mileage, limited track time, and reasonable price don't last long at all. For example, the last couple examples listed here have sold pretty quick. Seems that the ones that take a bit longer to sell are the super collector quality cars (i.e. high priced) or otherwise special cars (i.e., the white one on hear with 50k in mods with a 100k plus ask) or the dedicated track cars. The cars in the middle, if priced even somewhat reasonably, seem to get snatched up quickly.

The 996 GT3 is pretty plain-Jane as far as looks go. In today's market use about everything on four wheels has more aggressive styling to it.

The wing is really the only discriminating feature about it and the rest of the industry has been putting wings on just about everything coming out of the factory since.

It's the script on the back lid that tells even the half-initiated that there is something different about this car.

Simplicity is a wonderful aesthetic. Coming in under the radar is cool too.

What SITHOT says... one only has to look at the original Porsche profiles, no Boy Racer looks, but Racer capabilities on all levels.
And, they are all great looking Porsches.

BTW, a 6GT3 recently sold at an appropriate quite Higher price, where all of them are going and will be, which is also very cool.

Within a decade, I feel that the 996 GT3 will be a $150-200k car due to its limited production, track performance, and GenY/Millenials entering their earnings peak.

The same thing happened for Gen X with the 964 limited production range over the last few years... I believe that history will repeat.
