The 93/94 964 "RS America" is a great reference.
They had ZERO RS parts, but did reduce weight via "add ons" and came stateside in limited production (701 produced). Most were flogged as track cars and today, even with 100,000+ miles on odometer, they are selling between $150-200k. That's not bad for a $54,800 MSRP Porsche back in Fall 1992... (The original sales brochure is framed above my desk here at work, and I look at it every day. As a college kid, I REALLY wanted that P-Car!)
With roughly 1,100 996 GT3s produced (and the car coming equipped with a "track heavy" set up including that time honored Metzger engine), I think the North American collector community will covet them. In the meantime, I will continue to flog it on the track as well!

Within a decade, I feel that the 996 GT3 will be a $150-200k car due to its limited production, track performance, and GenY/Millenials entering their earnings peak.
The same thing happened for Gen X with the 964 limited production range over the last few years... I believe that history will repeat.

1100 or so imported into North America. A healthy number written off.
To those in the know, it is a very, very good pure driver's car (that can bite) and will be appreciated as such in the future.

We've had ours for almost 7 years now. Got it with 16k mikes...some of those were mild track use but nothing major. Now has 96k, no track since we got it, all DD, mountain roads and highway. So sucks as a DD... but wouldn't trade it!!! Love it every day! Ours was never meant to be a low mileage queen...it's a car. Enjoy it every day! Funny how a GT3 just looks different than a normal 996...stance, wing, rockers, splitter...can pick it out a mile away.

I'm in process of having entire car redone by HRD. Couldn't let it go. Everything front to back including Billradermotorsports transmission, All new anything needed. Great involving car. Slow now in comparison to new stuff but so engaging. Deep breath. Mine was so nicely done originally.
