I wonder if blowing a MAF could be tune related? You read about some people blowing them frequently and others don’t. Not sure what the culprit is. Some say it’s RPM related but In almost 10 years of tracking my car I’ve never blown a MAF and I have a 7500 redline with frequent logs of up to 7800. Not sure heat is much of a factor either as in the summer I track the car at density altitudes approaching 3000 meters with oil temps at 260F. Hope you get it sorted Pete...

There's been some issues with the engine during the whole season, with MAF and misfires. First one is now solved by changing from Hitachi to Bosch, evaluation will happen next summer. Misfire issue was more complicated. In late July I changed in new coils and plugs because of random misfires at Bank 2/Cyl 5. At track next weekend the problem continued. Back home, new plugs and swapped coils 4&5 with each other. On the road run well. Next weekend at track Cyl 5 misfire. At his point I was afraid of mechanical problem. After few busy weeks at work I bought a borescope and took a peek into cylinders. Valves and their opening were OK. A small relief, but that meant one unpleasant job of removing injectors. It was a full day's job to get them out while engine is in.

Problem found after injector test:

1. 612cc @ 3bar
2. 582
3. 558
4. 630 (only good one)
5. 474
6. 558

These were replaced by a new, calibrated set of EV14 / 1200cc Bosch injectors with a change to E85 in mind. Another change was a smaller TB, 74mm instead of 82mm. Drivebility at street is much better now. While the track season is over, last week we did a baseline dyno run w/gasoline. FWHP 599hp @ 5750 & 790 Nm @ 4300-5000 / 1.1 bar. E85 will be tuned in at dyno next week.

Heat management:

Zircotec Gold wrap to keep radiant heat away from intercooled air.

Preparing for the show in the end of September.

Thanks guys! With your products ( 997t silicone inlet tubing, Big Pack ICs, Y-pipe and plenum) I could squeeze 14 hp and 11 Nm more with 0.1 bar less boost when closing boundaries of VTG turbos' flow chart. There's still a bit more to get with gasoline, we might try something next week.

3. Electric pump installed to the frunk.

With modified GT2 accessory compartment and

with DIY floorboard.

4. Modular relay and fuse box for steering, vacuum and fuel pumps and expansion reservoir for the steering pump.

General view to frunk.

5. New fuel tank cowr for fuel feed and vent lines.

Wing pics continue. Width is 170 cm, full carbon, anhedral with Gurney flap. Stands are my own design (also carbon fiber) and that engine cover is again car's original.

7. Overhauled turbos with new propellers. Compressors are KTS MFS451's with 46,4 mm inducer and 62,8 mm (60 mm) extended tip inducer, 6+6 blade superback.

8. Heat shielded plenums and new fuel lines. I had to drop the engine to fix few minor but annoying fuel leaks under oil cooler and transmission. At the same time I cleaned everything and installed these gold foils to prevent radiant heat.

Pics from the car sho my car attanded during Easter holidays. It was among some other cars from SccH (Sports car club of Helsinki).

Awesome build Peter. Very inspiring. Love the IC inlet position. Is that fiberglass or did you do the work in steel? Are you doing the work yourself?

IC inlets are made from steel. I've done all the installations and work on suspension, engine and transmission myself, but bodywork, paint and carbon fiber parts are outsourced. Although design and models for CF skirts is DIY out of MDF.
