Default 6GT3 - 18” wheels over 380mm front rotors

Hi All,

Is anyone running BBS E88, CCW C10 etc and using 380mm front rotors? I know they will fit over 362mm Alcons but is there clearance issues with bigger rotors?

Many thanks,
BJ

I'm running OEM 380mm 997GT3 brakes on my car using BBS E88 18x10 wheels. It's a tight fit but it fits. Also have Finspeed F110 18x10 mono blocks and they fit. Both wheels will also fit in an 18x9. I have run CCW C10 18x9 and they also fit. On the E88s, to clear 380s, you will need different centers than what is normally used on the standard E88 GT3 fitment 18x9 ET42s.

That's useful to know, thankyou. What different centers do they need?

BBS makes various centers depending on clearance requirements of your particular application. To clear 380s you need 274 centers, not 120. With 274 centers your choices are:

18x9 ET49 1/8
18x9.5 ET44 1.5/8
18x10 ET37 2/8

With the 9s you will wanna run 5-7mm spacers..

Can you post a picture of your 380mm brakes on your car please? Curious how that looks visually

Hard to see the brakes behind E88s. Little easier behind an open mono block..

I run 380mm Stoptech Trophy series on my car. CCW'S wouldn't fit over them. I have Jongbloed monoblocks and they fit great. I also have tried some HRE race wheels and they fit also.

Jongbloed's X10 and X14 forged monoblocks will both fit in just about any combination of offset/size. They are custom made and so can be tailored to your needs.

Their 3 piece wheels require a little measuring and certain offsets to make work.

Give us a call at Aspen Autosports and we can help you out or reach out to Jongbloed direct. Ryan is who you want to speak to.

With 18s over 380s, if you track your car and your wheel barrels look like this, your calipers won't stay pretty long. Clearance is pretty limited and rubber buggers make quite a mess as they get lodged between the wheel and calipers..

Thanks for the pics, tight fit but looks great. Any issues with bias? My car is a pccb one so I have 350 F/R

Bias is shifted to the rear considerably with the 997 set up as the rear calipers have almost 50% greater piston area. I'm running the larger 997 master cylinder and the vacuum pump which improves bite and overall brake feel. I'm also using a Cup ABS and that shifts brake bias even further to the rear as it has a much higher lock up threshold. Brakes are simply amazing. These cars really benefit from a lot more rear brake. Porsche really got it right with the 997 cars..
