Salvage 04 GT3 on Ebay
http://www.ebay.com/itm/2004-Porsche...19.m1438.l2649
Anyone know this car? Seller says car was abandoned at his shop for a year exactly as it's pictured. Odd someone would just walk away from a GT3 even with a salvaged title. Found a old local newspaper with the lien notice. He states no knowledge of reason of salvage title but have to assume the front was damage from the 997tt front end. Sorry if this car has been talked about before but did search and nothing |
Yep stumbled across this today and am curious as well
|
sounds expensive.....a lot of $$$ has to be spent to bring it back and it still has a salvage title.

I am sure someone out there has wanted to this since there are so many 996 headlight haters. Now that its been done I don't know how I feel about it exactly.
The rear bumper works for me. Do the 997 fenders need any medication to match up the body gap with the 996 doors? |
Interesting that those seats aren't even original to the car, nor are the belts. The dash and doors should have deviated stitching, and I don't see that either, unless the thread color is silver.

It was totaled by the insurance company in May 2005 with only 216 miles on it. It sat for 4-1/2 years without accumulating any miles. I think if it were a theft it would have flipped pretty quickly, so I'm guessing the original owner stuffed it. From 2009-2015 it was titled and registered in Maryland.

This is getting better. The owner in Maryland sold it in 2015 for $24,000 after hitting a curb straight on. With 40,044 miles...
Here's a pic of the front damage which included the pan. It's already had the conversion. Totaled twice? |

I'm not sure whether the non-original seats make a difference value wise as it has a salvage title already. . |
Agreed that the seats don't change value. It's just odd that someone would swap painted back sport seats for regular sport seats. I suspect there is more to the story.

Looked up the shop in one of the ads picture. Eurofed Automotive in Lawrenceville, GA. If you look at their Yelp page they have a few pictures of the car. Don't think the 40k car is the same car as there is no record of those miles on Carfax. Either car had major damage and new owner took his time with repairs or was thinking 1st owner might of had a disbute with the insurance payout. Only 2 reasons I can think car sat for years. Hard to buy a car when seller knows nothing regarding history. If frame checks out, it would make a nice track car project but they asking too much.

Same car, same VIN, as shown on the prior owner's cached ad. I was thinking track car too, but if it took a frontal hit to a curb as the last owner stated, and his insurance company totaled the car (again) it would have taken a lot of work to get it right. Somehow Autocheck doesn't show any mileage change since it was totaled the first time at 217 miles. Here's a pic of the ad showing the VIN and 40,044 miles.

I stand corrected. Looks like someone gave a offer that the seller took. Let see if new owner pops up on this forum/track/car meet and willing to give some details of the car.
|
I let the seller know about the odo change. I hope he let the buyer know.

This car is still for sale on Craigslist Atlanta for $70K !!!
