Do I have to remove the center console to replace the e brake switch?
Top will not go down...was working fine. Noticed with the e brake on the dash does not indicate it is up. After a bit of reading seems this is common. Curious if I really have to remove the console to do this job. That seems like a serious amount of work to replace this tiny part.

After a bit continued searching the answer is yes. Yes I do. Job done and getting the console out was not as difficult as it looked like. E brake switch replaced and a how to coming soon...

Good job! Looking forward to your right-up of the DIY. As a fellow Cab owner I figure it's just a matter of time before that will be on my list.

Yes the console needs to be removed.
I bought the switch from Sunset. The older switches(EBay) have a different part number. Careful !
Great opportunity to upgrade your worn shifter

I got the part from the dealer and I'm not sure why an OEM part wouldn't be used since it is only $7
