'03 996 C2 manual
As per my earlier thread requesting help with appraising a prospective purchase, many thanks to the help I gained here, and I am now the proud owner of my first Porsche, a '03 C2 manual 996 in Basalt Black metallic, with full leather option.
The car has travelled only 64,000kms, or 40,000miles, and is in exceptional condition.
I have now done a paint correction on it using a Rupes Dual Action polisher and Rupes medium and fine polishes and finished up with Farecla G3 wax. The result is stunning - mirror-like finish and all of the fine swirls from careful but years of standard washing have gone!
The PPI highlighted a faulty dual mass flywheel as the only significant item, and I negotiated a proce reduction with the private seller to cover about 75% of the cost of the part (LUK), which will be fitted at the same time as the gearbox comes out to replace the IMS bearing (LN Engineering). The clutch was replaced by previous owner only a few 100kms ago - the car has only travelled 1,000kms in last 3 years!
On delivery it had 997 vinyl look-alike covers on the headlights which I removed immediately - my personal strong preference is to have a car looking original.

First I just have to say New Zealand is gorgeous.
Then I'll say congrats on the purchase! When you have the time I think we are going to want... no, NEED photos of the two of them together.
I wish you happy trails in good health!

Main roads are well patrolled, but so many fantastic off the beaten track country roads to enjoy, and many of them are a *****-out drive under the legal limit anyway (100kph everywhere)

Race Car
Memorable roads were Rotorua to Palmeston North and Motueka to Christchurch

It will be checked directly with gearbox out for IMS replacement and a new one fitted then if necessary (LUK)
