Default Help fitting 996 Bose footwell subwoofer please

Hi, I have a non-Bose 996 Targa. I have replaced the head unit and 4 speakers but it severely lacks base. I have purchased a Bose footwell subwoofer off of eBay in the right carpet colour for my car and have lined it inside with Dynamat, ready for installing...

So, now looking at fitting it. Do I have to cut the original footwell carpet in order to fit the sub? It seems too tall to fit otherwise and there is a location peg on the bottom at the front of the sub which I guess locates in a hole under the carpet. I want to be sure about this before cutting the standard carpet unnecessarily. Can anyone confirm where to cut the carpet too?

Also, what size of Torx screw is needed to fix the front of the sub into the hole in the tunnel?

If anyone has done this install and has photos could you please post them?

Thanks,
Tom

Yes, it's the factory option Bose footwell subwoofer.

I need to know if the main floor carpet needs to be cut to accommodate it. I can't find any photos of the floor carpet for a car fitted with this option sub.
