I am attempting to replace a bent wheel I have and bought one from a Porsche dismantler, I received the wheel that was promised to be straight and true. When I received the wheel it looks like it has been welded on and repaired in some way? Can I use this wheel safely if it is actually straight? Or should I return it?

Return it!!!

I'd send it back. It may be OK to use if the repair was done properly, but why take the chance? There are lots of wheels out there.

FWIW, I've gotten good parts from these guys (no affiliation): partssociety.com

Very poor quality welds= dangerous & unbalanced They didn't even bother to remove the tire to test the balance of the wheel. What wheel are you looking for?

https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...c7c3d89b88.pngI need one of these 5 spoke lightweight carrera wheels for the rear 18x10 et 65

OK, all I have are 8" & 9" Ideally observe the bare wheel spinning on a wheel balancer smoothly before buying. I bought 2 or 3 on ebay that I returned with paypal's help

I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet, I really don't want to go through the hassle of shipping the wheels I received back (the other one is bent) and I received them with tires I didn't really need. My car is with my mechanic and the goal is to get a set of wheels to the powder coater to do them in black. I didn't even know my wheel was bent until he mounted new tires a couple months ago. I've been driving on it and it feels fine

A properly repaired wheel will look just like it came from the factory. No bumps or crappy welding.
I would not drive my car with that wheel

+1 on this ... I couldn't see the pic very well earlier. That doesn't look good at all.

Looks like a bad repair, surely you can get one good wheel from somewhere?

https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/rennlis...5473649936.pngInstead of messing around with finding 1 good replacement wheel, I'm going to buy a set of these oz wheels from tire rack. they are offered in the same dimensions as my factory wheels.
