Oil analysis - Where do I go? Who do I contact?
I would like to have a comprehensive oil analysis done on my '99 996. Who can do this in the Kingston, Ottawa, GTA area. Please help! I am saving up for the LN Solution but in the meantime I wan to make sure my baby don't go BOOM.

Call your local NAPA store and ask them for part #4077 (yup, like the unit number from the old MASH TV series). That is the part number for their oil sample kit and they will likely have to have it shipped to them from central warehouse... so call ahead first.
They charge you $15 at the register and you can mail it in after you've changed your oil.
It's basically 1/2 the price of Blackstone.

There is also a Wix kit (part # 24077) on amazon.com that is sometimes on sale for $12. I stocked up a few weeks ago when it was that price.
NAPA and Wix kit go to the same lab and both include TBN. Blackstone changes extra for that.

There is some place that sells Driven DT40 5W40 oil, and includes the UOA. Look into that, too. I use Blackstone for over 11 years.

I don't think that outfit does that anymore... Someone please correct me if I"m wrong... (as if that wouldn't happen here automatically, LOL!)

Do you pay when you submit the oil or do you pay when they give you the kit at the store?
