Tina from "Gone In 60 Seconds" was not a 996...
... but rather an air cooled 1978 converted to look like one!

The B-J write up mentions the lighter body of the 1978 was necessary for the stunt (at 2264 lbs for 1978 911 vs. 2910 lbs for the 996) but at the time the movie was made (2000) I'm sure it was also much cheaper to modify a 1978 to look like a 996 than to buy one.

Or the "Miami Vice" Ferrari Daytona that was a Corvette-based replica, but with a real Daytona soundtrack dubbed in. Apparently Ferrari was not amused by this and sued the manufacturer of the replica; the replica was subsequently blown up (in an episode of the show) as part of the settlement.
