Tall Shift **** Options
Instead of spending $$$$ on the CAE ss, I've been thinking of combining B&M ss with a tall shift **** to it, to emulate the height of the CAE ss. I've searched all over, but haven't seen many people with them. What are my options yall?

The CAE is really tall. To find a **** that will emulate that - not sure you're going to be happy. The short throw of the B&M is going to be negated with a **** that big.

I completely understand the semi-counterintuitive perspective, but my focus is to have the shifter closer to the wheel, like the CAE. If only the CAE unit was affordable

There is a console riser kit on the market now that's pretty damn cool - it raises the entire console up so you don't have that 'unfinished" look that you may not want. http://www.function-first.com/produc...-riser-kit-996
Function First seems to make some pretty good quality stuff... I have their e-brake riser and its good... but then again, its a hunk of threaded metal that's pretty hard to get wrong. lol

I currently have what appears to be a short shifter with a very long throw shift ****/handle. It puts the shifter right next to the wheel, which I thought would be awesome - but the shift action is truly terrible, and I will be removing Meg from my 996. If you want to be Meg's next home, PM.

The B&M is fine for street but felt horrible on the track. I couldn't swap it out with my Numeric fast enough.

(OK, I'll admit it: Meg is a shifter only a mother could love)
