Considering purchasing a 996 Turbo... need guidance.
Hello everyone! I've been lurking the forums now for awhile trying to soak up all the information I can about the 996. I currently have a C5 Z06 with a cam (438 rwhp), coilovers, wheels, etc. and I also have a 2006 Dodge Ram SRT10 with a 6 speed. I am considering "consolidating" these two vehicles to purchase a 996 Turbo. I'm considering this because I don't like spending all my free time cleaning and maintaining all my vehicles, I want to be enjoying them instead. I am looking for a vehicle that my Wife and I can drive comfortably on long road trips and enjoy together. So, I have a few questions:
Thoughts on the two for one swap?
I'm wondering how my C5z with the way it's setup will compare to a slightly modified 911.
How much more depreciation can we expect from the 996?
I pretty much do all my own repairs, how much time/money are you guys typically spending per year?
Any issues with the AWD system?
Should I be concerned with the coolant hoses? I don't plan on tracking the car but I do live in Georgia and it gets very hot and humid down here.
Thanks for your time!
Peter
