Need help identifying a wire connector
Connector under pocket in center stack. Wire colors are brown, yellow w/black stripe, green w/black stripe and red w/green stripe.
I found this lonely connector after removing the pocket in preparation for moving the climate controls to the bottom slot (Double Din install).
Does anyone know what it is for? I don't want to leave something important unconnected but I couldn't find any socket near that area.

two of the wires are live permanently and the other two come live with the ignition switched on. Very useful for my on board Police radar detector. I use the side that comes live with the ignition. Also a good pick up point for the day time running lights which I installed to the ignition side. The plug does not attach to anything on my car although at one time it did supply a worn out radar detector which I removed along with a ton of old wiring. The permanent side of the plug I use for a fused switched double connector which I in turn use, for my GPS with forward looking camera and recorder.

The phone connector, as others have stated, is an awesome resource if you need switched power.
If you need a LOT of switched power, use the phone connector's switched +12v and a relay.

Probably would've figured it out by Googling "Porsche 996 center stack connector" and reading a few posts. But I agree, it wouldn't have been very intuitive.
FWIW, I believe that this is the connector that mates to the one in the center stack:

I used one for the wiring to my auto-dimming mirror, with a couple extra connectors for a radar detector that I never got around to installing. It made for a clean installation, although whether or not that's worth $20 is certainly open to debate.
