Default in car phone removal

I've been trying to remove the in-car phone on my c4 from 99. I just can't seem to remove the trim that has the phone mount on it. Ive tried snapping it out on the frontal part. But after that I'm stuck. Ill show you some pictures of how far I've come:

Hope any has some tips of how to proceed!

regards
Carl

Grab it from the back and pull outward and forward at the same time. That should work, unless your set up has a hidden screw behind that plate. (unlikely)

Hi! That's the problem, that just doesn't work. It's not like on the other side. I can't find a screw in the inferior hole neither. I tried pulling and pushing the phone base base plate as well but without result.. *sigh*

you need to pry out the round plug with the hole in it. Behind it is a screw which needs to be removed, then you can slide of the plastic plate. Behind the plate are screws to remove the console.

This is mine, the principle will be the same. Just pull at the back of the cover and push away to free the cover. As you can see there is no screw or bolt holding it.

THe blueprint looks like mine. It's probably straight forward as soon as I remove the plastic gromet or whatever you want to call it!

Pull the back edge of the flap toward the A pillar. It will pop right off. Replace starting at the front edge.

If you think THAT looks clean, imagine how clean it'll look with the lower console deleted entirely.

You know you want to do it. Everyone else is doing it. Don't you want to be popular and cool?

Cool

You're right, I do want the gratification of others! After all, that's why I drive a 1999 Porsche 996 tiptronic!
