Default Headlight repair?

Hi

I have bought a c4s that needs a little TLC.
The Lugs on the underside of the headlight have broken. Therefore when I turn the locking mechanism to lock the light in place, I won't stay in place.

Is there anyway to fix this or do I have to buy another complete light

Photo's ? Where there's a will there's a way. Are these Litronic's you're talking about? At roughly $1k ea. I'd think it's worth a try to fix them...

The first picture is the base plate with the metal bar that locks the plastic lugs in place. The other two photos show the broken plastic lugs on the bottom of the headlight.

Could you try cutting out "brackets" from thin aluminum that you could exopy or screw to each broken lug?

Are they broken, or just worn? (they don't look "broken"...). The only way to tell is to have a good one side by side. The difficulty with repairing this material (Glass fiber impregnated plastic) is getting anything to stick to it. I'd try building the tabs back up with fiberglass or epoxy type products. Good luck

Thanks guys
I'm going to make some plates for either side from aluminium as suggested.
Should be an easy fix.

Thanks again

Hope that works. Someone had those lights out many, many times for that type of wear to happen.

I agree lots of in and out, but they don't look broken to me either. They just look well worn. Good luck!

No, I think the wear is on the bottom side of the light housing - not the mounting plate Light housing = big $$ (especially if they're Litronics)
