996 Forum Looking Boring
Hello all - Just wanted to catch your attention
Been a while - Hope all is well with everyone! Good hearing from "gnat" recently. Thanks for the PM.
Sold my C4S on BAT Auction back in August 2016 to nice guy in Hawaii. Took several months to get the car shipped but finally arrived on the big island in mid-October. He's pretty damn happy and keeps in touch regularly - I thought by now he would have joined the forum - I'll have to scold him.
My Mother lost her battle with cancer the end of October which was a bummer - Been dealing with Trust/Estate proceedings and let it be a lesson to everyone to make sure your parents have their Trust/Will completed and checked over. My Mother was extremely responsible and still there were lots of loose ends which have been costly to tie up. So much freakin paperwork and attorney fees.
I read the BAT auction disaster thread. Ashame this sh_t happens but as I stated in several of my posts, I'd never buy a car on auction, only buy in person with proper PPI.
Sort of hypocritical considering I sold mine on BAT, but I am completely honest & forthright about anything I sell so there's my excuse.
Been driving my new to me Land Rover LR3 which pulls my 1966 Airstream like a dream.
Bought my wife a brand new Mazda-3 which I hate but shes happy. She got pissed I surprised her with a nice clean 2005 Mercedes E320 CDI so that got traded in for the Land Rover.
My old 1998 Land Rover Discovery was getting old and tired and even more leaky. I do miss clamping the rag under the lip of the valve covers to keep the oil from dripping on the manifolds. Now the kid who bought it from me can work it - I described in detail just how to use the small clips to hold the rags and to make sure he changes them every couple of months so they don't burn up and fall on the spark plug wires and cause misfire
I'll be back in a Porsche soon - Just wanted to check in and make sure everyone was awake.

I've wanted a Turbo for years but IMO the C4S body looks so much better without the whale tail and rear fender cutout.
My eyes are on 997.2 C4S - Will see how things play out this summer
All the best!

Good to hear from your Groov! And we here Raby country offer our deepest of condolences.
I'm not sure if you've read "Good Week" recently, but I also sold my Porsche (sniffle sniffle). I miss it everyday, but my wife's SUV is worn out to say the least and so I will be hunting deals on the ones she likes - i.e. Tahoe, Yukon, or XC90. Hope to get her squared away soon, so that I can begin my hunt for another 996 or something similar.
Cheers from Georgia!

Our condolences on the passing of your mother.
Nice with the LR3. The forums have figured out all the major issues on those, so it should be smooth sailing. I got a D2, that doesnt leak (that much).

Condolences on the passing of your mother. October was a bad month, lost my stepmother, a year after my father's passing. They did not have it all together, and it has been a nightmare to sort out, and still is. I echo your advice.

Sorry for your loss. Lost my dad two years ago and it's never easy losing a loved one.

you remember, the monkey who used spare parts to repair his IMS and then sold the car to unsuspecting buyer.
