Speeding Cameras

Since they sent you a picture of the ticket, send them a picture of the cash to pay the fine
You should have gotten a ticket for driving on the wrong side of the road LOL

That sucks mate.
In NZ speed camera offences will only require the driver to front-up if they were 30kph above the posted speed limit. Otherwise it's a straight monetary fine - which is more than fine (no pun intended). I thought only (the state) Victoria that has a strict speed limit enforcement regime.
And 3 years to lose your demerit? We only have 2 years.

I do like that I get a photo for my trophy wall ... years ago we only got close-ups of our number plate.

So 9mph over?
I was paranoid driving in France year and a half ago. Radar detectors are illegal, if you get caught with one- e 1,500 fine and radar gets destroyed. So I drove around on cruise control in the country side at 30 kph.
Screw the police, the cameras, the tickets, the courts, the insurance. All of it is designed to bend you over and take your money.

Been there, done that! This culls the slow and stupid children. If you see a Porsche screaming towards you at full speed and you run in front of it, you deserve what's coming!

My wife and I took a 2-wk ski vacation in Europe in December - drove from Amsterdam to Val d'isere France, then on to Verbier Switzerland and finally to the Arlberg region of Austria before driving back to Amsterdam thru Germany. We did the entire drive w/o ever getting pulled over and I was definitely pushing it. Got home and the love letters from Europe started coming in - first one from Belgium and then a set of 3 from Austria. All were billed directly to my cc on file. A fifth letter arrived and they demanded that I wire the funds to their account immediately - I looked at the ticket and it was for 4 kph over the posted limit. I'll just have to lay low and stay inside the koffee shops for the next year in Amsterdam until it goes away. Damned speed cameras!

Dont even get me started on the state of Victoria and their attitude to speeding. Suffice to say I've thought about selling my car because of how many tickets I've accumulated for minor speeding offences.

I moved from the UK to Canada in 2010, UK is speed camera heaven and the wretched average speed cameras grouped together for miles took some of the fun out of driving for sure. So I feel your pain in Aus.
Imagine my surprise no cameras in Canada other than occasional red light.
Apparently they had them here and everyone refused to pay/admit guilt so it clogged up the court system, and they were banished years ago.
Here the Cop has to stop you, and apparently if they don't show up in court (should you fight the ticket) you get off!! Even the thought of fighting a traffic ticket was odd based on the "no chance of winning UK system".
This was all good until recently when legislation was reintroduced in Ontario (where I'm based) to bring back photo radar as its know here. Slippery slope.
Regarding tolerance to speed not to make you all jealous but its not too bad, 20Kmh over limit is OK on major roads but limits are low at 100kmh anyhow.
Apparently less than 15kmh over and you get fine and no points.

We had a 5kph tolerance here but it's been recently reduced to 3kph... Grrrr

I just got home from NZ man I wish I had my 996 for some of the roads... There are roads here but I guess it's different when you're travelling.
I'd have to go out and find them haha.

However in saying that there are heaps of Porsche meets and the PFA just had their first track day which was awesome so there is heaps to do. Also the availability and prices of parts and specialists is great.

Hope you enjoy NZ, there are lots of amazing roads here - if you drove to Hanmer Springs from Picton or Nelson, this will look familiar. Just gotten back from South Island driving my wife's BMW, which was powerful enough for 100KW, apart from the annoying turbo lag.

Yeah, bigger market and demand. Unfortunate that some do-gooders are fixated on speed without considering other factors. Surprise, surprise the Germans haven't wiped themselves out driving on unrestricted autobahns.

Thanks yes NZ was amazing, my partner is from the north island actually. We drove from Motueka to Christchurch for the first part of our trip in a Rav4 we did stop at hamner springs
Then for the second part we went from palmston North to Taulpo, Rotorua and Tauranga in a Mazda 3.
