But you sure would not want to be all the way in there and either have to use the old O-ring or wait until a new one arrives. Also, I used clean new engine oil to lube the O-ring, not grease like it says. Worked great.

Sorry to bump such an old thread, but what motor mounts were installed that resulted in the engine being too high? I just installed Torque Solution mounts in my '02 and I appear to have the same clearance issue you did with the oil filler tube.

However, once I replaced the oil filler tube, I didn't do anything special and I had 1.5 inches of clearance over that idler pulley. So i am not sure what happened. Maybe my worn mounts were slowly lowering my engine and pully that original tube onto the pulley. Of course that doesn't make any sense. The pulley and oil filler tube are part of the same thing. What is different is the air box.
