PSE - what it entails
Hello friends !!
I have few questions:
PO has installed Porsche Sport Exhaust (PSE) in my 2003 Porsche C4S. PSE was not a factory installed option for this particular car as I have the window sticker (build sheet) that does not indicate PES as an option. In addition, I don’t have the PES button on the dash. On a side note; PO also supplied me with an additional PSE muffler (left side) in case one goes wrong I guess .
I look under the car and found followings:
Part number engraved on the left muffler is :996 111 984 03. Name of the muffler manufacture is Eisenmann which is engraved on a small gold plated plaque. Mufflers also have the valves (made by PIERBURG) etc.
So .. It is clear the car is fitted with authentic PSE mufflers based on the numbers etc.
Question 1: Are there anything else came with the PSE like special pipes, headers etc. What constitutes PSE? Am I correct to assume that PSE = two Porsche Sport mufflers with valves, and that’s it?.
Question 2: Since the car does not have PSE button on the dash, how do I ensure that the valves are permanently open? It sounds unbelievable but want to make sure if there is a way to know for sure.
