Default Lurker buys a Porsche

After lurking these forums for over a year I finally dropped the hammer and bought my Pcar. I picked up a 2002 Meridian Gray C2yesterday in Campbell and drove it 100 glorious miles to home.

I have been been contemplating what to write here. I'm feeling a bit of pressure as there are several accomplished contributors roaming the forums. Sadly, this is all I could come up with. I have wanted a Porsche since childhood so this was fulfillment of a life long goal. My brain has not totally accepted what I posses now as I am startled whenever I see it.

Back to to the car. It's lightly optioned: Lightronic, Bose, memeort seats, Carerra II wheels and that's about it. Less is more in my mind and I couldn't be happier. It has only 55k miles and, dare I admit it here, the IMSB was replaced 10k miles ago along with the clutch. I looked at a lot of cars and drove four or five with mileage from 49k to 91k, '99s, '01,'04 and this one. This one stood out to me as "the one".

Thanks to the group for sharing your knowledge and opinions here. I have learned much and am looking forward to turning wrenches on this baby!

I actually looked/drove that car, when I was searching. There are a few things I found, but all pretty minor.

I noticed a few things myself but nothing too alarming. Would be interested to hear your impressions.

Really minor stuff - I am super picky! The front bumper has crack/scratches in it on the bottom. Wheels were curbed. The passenger window regulator seems to be going, and something about the sunroof switch.

The owner was a very nice guy who definitely took care of his car. I would have bought it if it had been just slightly better condition.

looking good, can you share how much you paid for it ? I am curious about value as my car is pretty close to yours.

Very nice rig! And in a subtle and unusual color that I find myself appreciating more and more as this generation of cars ages a bit. Very nice.

Agreed, it is an unusual color and not what I pictured driving when I set out to find a car. Like you, WalterRohrl, it has grown on me. Maybe I will be one of only 100 at the next Rennsport Reunion!

Philoo, my car is also sans PSM, full leather etc. I paid low 20's for it.It is clean, aside from the items that Stan23 mentioned (all pointed out by PO). Fifteen year old car will have some issues to sort. These seem like low buck items as compared to what could go wrong.

Congrats love that colour! Same wheels as mine, they look great and are super easy to keep clean.
