T-20 anti tamper. The torx bit should have a hole in the end. Jeff

Thanks...is there a torque setting that I need to torque the bolt to or do I just make sure it is tightened firmly?

Thanks again!

I could not find a torque spec in the 996 shop manual - but that does not mean it is not in there somewhere. In the Boxster shop manual it is 2-3 foot pounds. Can't believe there is a spec for those little screws, and I doubt anyone had a wrench that will go dowm that small. Just snug them up. Jeff

What I did was dremel the end of a standard torx driver so the little nib fit into it.

For others, I have a set of various style 'tamper proof' bits. The front ones are the torx ones in the set. Jeff

Alternatively, take a pair of small vice-grip pliers and you can get these tamper-proof torx screws off the MAFS. I did it just last week. When you replace it, you can use standard screws.
