Default Sunroof issue

Went to open/lift sunroof and it moved up and then made a clunk noise. Now when you hit the center button, it lifts open, but won't go back (slide back) to open when I hit the auto slide button. When I hit the center button it does nothing. The forward button closes it. Nothing happens when you hit the rear slide? Is it the switch or something worse?

It might have lost its memory, they tend to do that. I think the reset procedure is to hold the button in the "closed" position for 15 seconds or so.

Edit: found this post by Atrox:

Procedure for resetting the sunroof limits on an '02-05 996 and all 996TT's:
1. Press open and hold button until it stops. Release button.
2. Press the open button again until it stops a second time (it should completely retract on the second push). Release button.
3. Press open button again and hold. After approximately 10 seconds, the top will cycle through close/lift/lower/open/close. Be sure to keep the button pressed the entire time until the top closes the second time, then release the button. You should now have one-touch!

Here's a good article too:

I tried it once today and it seems to be working. I hope it was a one time issue. Thanks for the help guys.

my inner sunroof cover drops down to much and comes loose sometimes. it drops off of one of the bent wires that it hooks to.
