Hub ring and lug bolt cross thread?
I was rushing last night to install some spacers on my 2002 C2. As I was screwing in my last lug bolt, i wasn't paying too close attention and it didn't go in straight and I managed to damage/strip some length of the hub ring lug thread (maybe 1/4" but not sure) on the driver rear side.
Anybody have this happen to them? Recommended solutions? I was thinking that one maybe to insert the lug bolt from the back side of the hub ring and run it through that way to see if clears out any of the damaged thread? Has anybody tried this? I'm not even sure if there is enough clearance for the lug to be inserted on the back side for this to work?
FYI...I installed 18mm spacers on all fours and it does fill out the wheel well nicely!

I don't think you will be able to insert it on the backside without completely disassembling the wheel carrier. You best bet is to take it to a good automotive machine shop. They should be able to get you fixed up. Not sure if they can do it with the carrier on the car or if you'll have to remove it.

Hopefully you are using new longer lug bolts with your 18MM spacers. That aside, you can remove the wheel and see if an appropriate sized tap will clean up the threads. Lug threads are nothing to mess around with. Unless you get it perfect, and feel it is perfect and not damaged much, then okay. But if there is any question in your mind about it, then a machine shop repair or new carrier is recommended.

I had a couple of damaged threads on my pass side rear wheel; the car came that way and although the bolts were not cross-threaded, the first 1/8" of thread was damaged enough to make it tough to get the lug bolts started when putting the wheel back on.
This was the primary reason I decided to do the lug conversion...now I can take off the wheels without worrying that I'm doing any additional damage to those threads.

Note that if you end up disassembling the wheel carrier, you will need a new wheel bearing as well as the latter is sacrificial on disassembly.
BTW, I very much like your car color.
