Default Fister Exhaust Option

I am looking to obtain a set of Fister Mufflers, I checked their site and apparently there is a back order, does anyone know of another avenue to obtain them? I love my 04-Cab, but the OEM mufflers are simply too quite. My oldest son is driving my 03 Targa with the Fabspeed Headers and Exhaust (Which I miss more than I can say) Any ideas to aid in my hunt for a better exhaust note, is much appreciated :-)

FYI - I do not have the means to buy another Fabspeed Exhaust currently (Which I feel sounds the best IMHO)

I've heard of people having the local muffler shop weld up something similar but I don't know the details.

Call Darin directly and see what he can do.

I did this last week and he was able to get a pair of mufflers done in a couple of days. They shipped to me across the country and I received them on Monday. Installed yesterday.

I love the sound. Even my wife likes it. She says that the car "purrs" when just cruising around but "growls" when we hit the loud pedal.

I had to take a pic of one before they went on.

Do this. Darin is all about customer service. There's demand for his mufflers because they sound great, look great (if you care about that kind of thing), and he stands by his customers.

Be a bit patient - it'll be worth the wait.

I took a look at the Fister site. I do not see anything that indicates there is a backorder. Are you sure you are looking at the right site?

Yup, it's best to hit up your local Vato Loco Latino joint. For an even easier upgrade, just remove your rear bumper and drive it in there like that to have them do it while the mufflers are still on the car. Saves about 2-3 hours of install time.

I received an email from them (Fister) advising me of the back order status - see below:

Doctor Richard,
Thank you for your order. Currently the mufflers for your car are very popular and we
We are awaiting core returns so we can build more mufflers and as soon as a set becomes available for your order we will send you an invoice for payment.

Have you thought of buying used cores and sending them to Darin? Plenty of ebay stores have them. Once you get them back sell your core cans to someone or even sell them to Darin.

Just remove yours from the cab and send to Darin for the mod. You'll probably have them back in a week or so.

Hmmm....I think it's time to have the son over for a few beers, and an exhaust swap!
