Default Video of stock 996 lap on Nürburgring

Apologies if this is the wrong forum to post this
but I thought other 996 owners would enjoy it.

Don't watch it at work (only because you will have an irresistible urge to fake getting sick so you can go drive your car.)

Whats the fastest recorded time for a 996 Carrera on the ring? I want to see how it compares to other cars.

I can't find stats for NA. looks like a Turbo did it in 8:09 in 2005.

EDIT: My bad, looks like that was a race car, not stock.

Yeah, the editing didn't do it any favors.

Also, two different runs, maybe even two different drivers/days. One is wearing a t-shirt, the other long sleeves.

That aside, I have the exact same car (model and color combo). Love seeing it raced.

the driver is talented. He's the same one that was in the drift video posted in another thread. Also the same guy that created this one:

Very cool. Thanks for posting.
Makes me want to go to the track right now. Just love the feeling of being in control of this car at the limit of its performance!

He certainly knew his way round there, it's really hard to learn as the track is so long. It's funny, when I went there, I was told 2 absolute no no's by a ring instructor. Don't try to drive it in the wet as it's lethal, and never drive it without a helmet. This guy did both of these. It's a truly great track, and complete petrol head heaven. Great to see it.
