PSM blinking on deceleration at highway speeds
40th anniversary 996.
Above around 80 mph, if I let off the gas, especially abruptly, the PSM starts blinking and if I grab the brakes I can feel that the PSM is activating them. More so in lower gears.
Thing is, the car isn't losing traction at all. I drove from Jacksonville, FL to Lexington KY and back and to get around the problem, which started in SC on the first day of the trip, I just disabled PSM. I even drove in the rain at...expeditious speeds...in the mountains with no real stability issue.
I don't run stock tire sizes; I run 245 and 285 MPSS tires. I ran the exact same tires for 3 years with no issues. I replaced the very bald rears with new ones just before the trip. The fronts have lots of tread left.
Only thing I can figure is that the difference in wear between the front and rear tires is enough to trip the PSM at higher speeds, since there is a rotational difference in the front and rear wheels?
I hooked up my durametric and there are no faults in the car whatsoever.
