You will probably want to change out fluids to establish your maintenance baseline if you don't have good records with the car, but definitely get out there and enjoy it! You have the best driving experience for the money now, and you should drive it every chance you get.

Great choice! I didn't know it when I bought my '99 but you have purchased one of the best 911's there is. You still have all of the feel and drivability of the 993 (no PSM, mechanical throttle linkage) but with the higher HP of the 996.

and I drove a few SCs and a few mid 80's carrera. I ended up
really liking a one owner '69 911S. Still kicking myself for letting a few worn rubber suspension bushings prevented me from buying it.

I hope you're right. This car is the only watercooled 911 I've driven (and
a very brief drive at that) so I don't have a reference.
