Thanks 318, that's the same kind of set up ill be using although I'll be using the bta1500 so hopefully it's good enough to be mounted in the frunk and Pickup my phone in the cabin. If not ill run the cable in.

As for the wiring there are two grommets you can go though the first - frunk into bulkhead area and then another into the cabin (looks like you found that one though).

I started a thread here that shows the frunk to bulkhead area gromet:

Hah, I'll take a look behind the whole brake reservoir setup. I thought I had looked everywhere, obviously not thorough enough! Need to wash the car as it was either too cold or wet or both at the moment :-(

Actually on our RHD cars it's near the Abs unit on the other side

Guessing your 996 is a C4 or C4S from the look of the frunk?

I'm also going to poke my ctek charger cables through that grommet so I don't have to remove the battery cover to charge it as mentioned in that thread.

Yup C4. My Ctek connector is poking out of the battery cover.

Nice, I wanted a solution where I didn't need to keep the frunk completely open so I stick a piece of sponge where the latch is and shut the frunk

If you don't have an aux does this work like an fm modulator but with bluetooth or does it tie into the antenna wiring?

Any more ideas about whether you have to control a lightning-connected iPhone through the head unit, or if you can control it through the iPhone itself?

@numbah, for me, it's not an issue as I just put on Spotify's "Latest Hits" tracks and leave it at that. I will also get too busy driving to want to change songs. Volume obviously is controllable from your head-unit. I don't utilise iPod as I only use Spotify, as per the above.

This unit does neither of those things, it integrates via the fibre optic system not the radio

My car has a CDR23 and a factory CD changer. Why can't I just unplug the CD changer and plug the Dension in its place?!

I would have done that but my car never came with a cd changer.

Do you know if what I'm trying to do should actually work?! I'm having a hard time finding actual detailed installation information.

Remind me again what you're trying to do?
