By the way I have a brand new head that I picked up a few years after I fixed my intermix. It is the 1-3 side. Head, valves and Springs with cam cover. You would have to use your own lifter body, lifters, cams, etc. These list for $3,135.20 today. I am asking $1,400 plus shipping. It has been sitting in my workroom for several years no.

When I had my cracked head in 2008 I looked at 2 or 3 other used heads, and every one of them was also cracked in the same place, so you have to be careful with used heads.
The repair done on my head by Costa Mesa R&D was welded and resurfaced, it was not an epoxy repair. Now in 2008 repairing these heads was not commonly done. I talked to my mechanic and the local dealer and they all said I needed a new engine. I even talked with Jake Raby, who was very helpful and nice. But at that point in time he also siad that the head could not be repaired and the intermix meant there would be other damage to the engine and I needed to replace the engine. I think he was just starting to work on these repairs then, he does them all the time now.
I bought the new head on eBay from a racing shop on a whim, just in case I needed it in the future. I am always buying this kind of stuff on eBay and if you are careful and know what you are doing you can get some real deals. I once bought a brand new Porsche OEM dual mass flywheel for $60 shipped. It sat under my desk for 3-4 years until I needed it When I had a clutch replacement. I had that done by a local indy and when he called to say I needed a new flywheel I told him to look in the trunk, there was one there :-). Another time I picked up a brand new 1-3 cam advance mechanism for $100. I ended up selling it to another member for $150, he was quite happy to get it for that price. I missed the 4-6 side because I typed in $10 instead of $100.
You see the heads on Ebay without the cam cover, or the cam covers without the heads all the time. But they are matched sets. They are line bored so you need the match set.
Good luck to those of you doing intermix repairs!! If you need some advice contact me.

I could see it now after you pointed it out even though that line is out of focus. Hopefully you could get it repaired without too much pain. It's a good opportunity to replace those variocam pads now that the cams are off.
