LN Engineering IMS bearing serial # sticker question
all,
I PM'd Jake Raby this question but he must be busy and I haven't received answer.
I am seriously looking at buying a C4S in pacific NW and car had LN IMS bearing replaced in December. Owner did not receive the serial# sticker from shop - Nowhere to be found. Awaiting answer from shop but I'm anxious to find out if I can trace the serial#.
Question: Are the LN IMS bearing serial#'s traceable thru purchase order records so I can confirm bearing has been replaced?

That would be my first thought, if* it was registered for the warranty then LN should have the VIN on file. I know this has been suggested in the past, but I don't recall seeing anyone come back and confirm if LN shared that information or not.
I say "if" as I know of at least one bearing that was not registered for the warranty. While what I did with my old one seems to be unique, I doubt I'm the only one to skip the registration.
On a related note (I asked before in the big IMSB thread, but didn't get an answer), where do buyers expect to see the sticker? I put one of the small ones on the work order and another in the owner's manual, but where is the best place to put the big one?
The most obvious place to me would be on the bonnet, but it's already been replaced and repainted a couple of times so I'm leery of putting it there and then it getting whacked again and the sticker getting lost during the repairs.
The other option I can think of would be the door jamb with the other stickers there. I figure if it gets whacked there the loss of the LN sticker is the least of it's problems

Was the work done by any of these shops? LN Engineering uses Certified Installers and then there are preferred installers. If it was indeed done, given the hysteria over this issue, I cannot believe one of their Certified or Preferred installers would "forget" to apply the serial # sticker.

I'd still contact LNE as it's their product your dealing with, they can tell you where they suggest to put it.
hope someone answers this as I'm interested in knowing where to put mine as well.

It happens , I bought the l&n bearing directly .
I was going to do the work myself but lost my shop so had a local Indy porsche shop do the work.
They lost the sticker . So my car doesn't have it .
But I do have recipts for the part and work.
I also helped a friend change the clutch in his c2 and the sticker was on the inside next to the ims bearing cover .
When looking for cars I saw stickers inside the engine compartment , door jams and even in the service record book.

I'd say the location of the sticker is usually on the driver side door jamb. That is where my IMS Solution sticker is. So Groove...does the C4S owner have the receipt showing the upgrade?

The response I just got back from LN is that they recommend 911s go in the engine bay and 98x cars get them in the door jam.

Yep, this was an LN question, I have zero to do with the products that are distributed.
The Flat 6 Decals are different for the vehicles that we retrofit, and they are serialized to the engine's M#, and the vehicle's VIN. These always go in the driver's door jamb.
